About Me

Hi, I'm the educator behind Mariposa Reading, a K–12 licensed teacher and reading and ESL tutor with over a decade of experience helping students thrive. I provide personalized K–8 reading and writing instruction and ESL lessons for children and adults—both online and in person across Minnesota.

I earned my degree in Education from Augsburg University and completed advanced coursework in Reading at Minnesota State University. I also hold a license and specialized training in ESL education, allowing me to support both children and adults in developing strong English language and literacy skills.

Over the years, I've taught in Eden Prairie Schools and Minneapolis Public Schools, where I've helped diverse learners build confidence, reach their goals, and discover the joy of learning.

My Beliefs

I believe that when students have a choice in what and how they read, they're more likely to build a lifelong love of learning. Whether a child needs support with decoding, fluency, comprehension, or writing—or an English learner is working to strengthen reading and communication skills—I meet each student where they are and help them grow through personalized instruction.

As a teacher, my goal is to create an encouraging and engaging environment where every learner feels supported and confident. I strive to help students discover their voice, build strong literacy and language skills, and experience the joy of learning that lasts a lifetime.
