The Kid Who Went to Mariposa
Once upon a time there was a kid who couldn’t read good. She didn’t feel good when she couldn’t read good. When she woke up she heard her mom talking on the phone about Mariposa. It helps you read better. She was upset. But then she thought of it for a second. Maybe if I go to Mariposa I could be a really really good reader. Then she went to Mariposa. She liked it a lot. Then from now on she became a really really good reader. By: Katie Grade 3
Parent: Dear Dr. Gasek & Helen, I know that we can’t thank you enough for everything that you have done for us as a family and especially what you have done for Katie’s self-esteem. Her teacher continually comments on her assertiveness and confidence. Homework is a piece of cake now. I feel that you have had such a positive impact on her life, as should all teachers. Thank you again. Katie really enjoyed her time spent with you. Dawn, Jim & Katie
Parent: I would like to take this opportunity to tell you all...THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have so much respect for all of you. You make a great team and go above and beyond. The difference in Ian is phenomenal! The confidence that he has gained still amazes me. I tell people about the phrase in your pamphlet that says, “come in as struggling caterpillars...and leave as beautiful butterflies.” There couldn’t be a more perfect analogy. Ian’s recent report card was fantastic. He had 2 Bs, 2 Cs and all satisfactories! I am so proud of him, and he’s pretty pleased with himself too. His teachers can’t believe the difference in him (they had him 2 years ago). They said he is always the first to put up his hand to answer questions and doesn’t hesitate to read out loud in class. He is getting much more fluent in his reading as well. I feel sorry for the children whose parents don’t or can’t take advantage of you guys, but I will keep spreading the word! Thank you all again, Betty
Parent: 1st Letter: We can't express enough how thoroughly grateful we are for all the work you did with Dylan. Life is just that much easier now for all of us. If you ever have a proposed client who would like to talk to a past client with regard to the program, please feel free to give our names! Karen, Greg & Dylan 2nd Letter: Hello to all of you! I just wanted to let you know that Dylan is well into his studies at the Middle School (Gr.5). To date, his progress has been unbelievable! We received just last week his first term report card and I am so pleased to tell you that he was rated "SATISFACTORY" in all subjects. All Dylan's tests to date have been above average, in the 80-100% (yes, believe me he has had quite a few 100%!)...I can't thank all of you enough for your encouragement and support last year. You have made my life that much easier, as well for Dylan. Kindest regards, Karen
